Over 50 years of experience
Mr. Hunter has been involved in health care since 1967 when he began his career as a military medical corpsman serving on ships and at ground stations in an advanced & independent duty capacity that included duty as a S.E.R.E (Survival, Evasion, Resistance, Escape) trained combat medic in various locations throughout the Mekong Delta in South Vietnam.
His military training qualified him to operate without a medical officer / physician at remote locations and his civilian equivalent was listed as a physician's assistant. During his time in Vietnam, Mr. Hunter was commonly referred to as "Bac Si" by the Vietnamese people he encountered in the field as a result of the caduceus he wore on his military uniform.
A wide gammut of advanced training and education
In the years after his military service, Mr. Hunter has functioned in various roles, both medical and non-medical, that included, but are not limited to: Orderly, Licensed Practical Nurse and Registered Nurse. He is Master’s prepared in Health Care Administration, certified in Infection Control and possesses a diverse range of experience that includes Medical-Surgical, Intensive Care, Coronary Care, Emergency Room, Home IV Therapy, Correctional Health Care (State & County Facilities), Infection Control Practitioner, Director of Nursing and Regional Manager.
Industry recognized expertise
Mr. Hunter previously served as the Infection Prevention & Control Manager for Mercy Philadelphia Hospital, and has been acknowledged by various organizations such as the Hospital Association of Pennsylvania, the Health Care Improvement Foundation, the Mercy Health System and the Philadelphia Business Journal.
